ભૂતકાળમાાં બનેલી ઘટના કે ક્રિયા માટે સાદો ભૂતકાળ વપરાય છે.

 Affirmative sentence

Subject + verb(V 2 ) + object / other words

Examples

Radha made palak pakoda last night.

રાધાએ ગયી રાત્રે પાલક પકોડા બનાવ્યા.

We learnt present perfect tense in last video.

અમે છેલ્લા વીડીઓમાાં પૂર્ણ વર્તમાન કાળ શીખ્યા.

Mr. Chaudhary read a newspaper yesterday.

મિસ્ટર ચૌધરીએ ગઈ કાલે ન્યુઝ્પપેર વાંચ્યું.

Special use
of simple
past tense

While, when before કે after થી બે વાક્યોજોડાયેલા હોય અને એક વાક્ય ચાલુભૂતકાળ (was/were + ing ) કે પૂણણ ભૂતકાળ (had + p.p p)હોય તો બીજુાં વાક્ય સાદાભૂતકાળનુાં આવે છે.

•
The patient had died before the doctor came.
•
After the teacher had revised all topics, the
examination began.
•
If clause વાળા વાક્યમાાં એક વાક્ય would
વાળાં હોય તો બીજુાં વાક્ય સાદા ભૂતકાળનુાં હોય છે.
•
If you ran fast, you would catch the bus.
